A Letter From the Rush Chair

Members of the Rho pledge class proudly hang the Sigma Nu
flag during their spring break trip to Destin, Florida.

Distinguished Psi Chapter Alumni,

All of us here at Sigma Nu are optimistic about the upcoming 2016-2017 school year. Although we have had several obstacles to overcome in the past 12 months, I can assure you that the chapter’s positive attitude and efforts to reform have made it as strong as ever.

One of my biggest inspirations in the business world is Andy Spade, a renowned branding expert who applies a simple marketing strategy to revitalize companies. The general idea, says Spade, is that no matter the size of your company, your brand should “act small” and apply a quality-first approach. He adds that a company should invest most of its time in the people that epitomize its vision and values.

Our chapter has spent the past few months recreating our brand, vision, and goals for the future. In order to “act small” and become a quality-first organization, we need to invest in all the people that epitomize Sigma Nu. This includes you. Whether it be showing up for events in the fall, assisting in LEAD workshops, or being a guest speaker at our chapter meetings, we would love your presence and support.

Already, I have seen an incredible amount of support from alumni as recruitment season is upon us. Our quality-first approach is particularly vital this time of the year, as it is our new members who will be the ones furthering the Psi Chapter legacy. If you know any young men entering UNC this fall who might be interested in Greek Life, please do not hesitate to contact me with their information!

I look forward to seeing you all at 109 Fraternity Court this year.

With love, honor & truth,

Carson Southard
