                This scholarship is created in the memory of Dr. Henry Clark. Were it not for Dr. Clark’s persistence, generosity and devotion to Sigma Nu, the Psi Chapter would remain un-chartered and inactive. Fittingly, the scholarship shall be awarded to the applicant that best demonstrates selflessness, reliability, loyalty and diligence.

     

     

                The recipient of this scholarship will be given a one-time $500 scholarship towards their University bill. In order to apply for this scholarship, the applicant must be a rising freshman attending the University of North Carolina and registered for Fall Rush.

                This application is divided into three parts. The first section asks you to provide general information about yourself. The second section requests a compilation of high school achievements, which should include participation in any extracurricular activities and awards or honors received. The third section encompasses three general questions. All of your answers and information must be recorded on a separate document that cannot exceed four, single-spaced pages in length. Use Times New Roman, 12-point font for all your work. Upon completion, attach all materials together and submit the document either electronically via the website or by mail to the address 109 Fraternity Court, Chapel Hill, NC, 27516. This application is due no later than 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 5th.

    For extracurricular activities, be sure to specify the weekly time obligation, duration of the commitment, and details of participation.

    For honors and awards received, describe the criteria for acceptance and nature of the award.

    Part Three: General Short Essay Questions

    1) Briefly discuss an ethical or moral challenge you have faced, and explain how you overcame that dilemma. What led you to the decision you made? What did you learn from the experience?

    2) What is your most meaningful life experience to date? Describe the impact it has had on your life.

    3) Describe your personal characteristics, accomplishments, primary interests, plans, and goals. What sets you apart from other men your age?
